Description Scrapbook containing items pertaining to Cook's first ventures into the United States. Includes letters of reference carried to various influential figures in the States from railway companies etc. with which Cook had worked in the UK, testifying to the benefits which Cook brought. There is also a transcription from the American Phrenological Journal from October 1865 of an article entitled 'Visitors are Coming. Americans, Make Ready!', and some notes about various U.S. railways at the back.
