Description Reverend Sanborn travels by railroad to Boxford Station before reaching lodgings close to Franconia Notch. He describes how crowded the train carriage was, their accommodation and excursions on horseback to the notch. Sanborn talks about the people of Sugar Hill and how they live, the church societies and religious services and views from Franconia Notch. Includes menus and business cards from guest houses along the way. Also includes notes of a few weeks in the country in August 1873.
