The first volume contains fragments describing Greenleaf’s travels in the eastern United States, including a trip from Washington D.C. to Baltimore and Newcastle, Delaware (10-11 April 1827); a journey to various locales in Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Connecticut (4-15 June 1828), undertaken for health reasons and a voyage from Boston to Washington, D.C., Charleston, South Carolina, and Augusta, Georgia (13 March-7 June 1830), where Greenleaf took up a position as minister. |
