She was just 27 at the time and travelled with her friend Lizzie Dipper. The account describes, amongst others, London, Paris, Basle, the Alps, Milan, Venice and Rome. The account gives dates and times and goes into historical and technical detail about church architecture and often uses romanticised language to describe the places visited. |
